In 2025, the Christina School District was proud to share that five of our schools were recognized by Delaware Secretary of Education Cindy Marten as 2025 Delaware Recognition Schools, highlighting their outstanding achievements.

In 2020, McVey Elementary School received the National ESEA Distinguished School award as a result of their outstanding academic achievements of their students.

In 2013, McVey Elementary School received special recognition for its outstanding achievements in promoting a positive learning atmosphere. The school reached Phase 1, School-Wide recognition status as part of the Delaware Positive Behavior Support Project. This honor highlights McVey Elementary’s dedication to creating safe and nurturing environments where students can thrive.
